Red Rooster Coffee Roaster has developed the Clean Pelican blend to lend a hand to our neighbors to the south. The coffee itself is fancy and fabulous. It is small batch artisan roasted and all Fair Trade and Organic. All profits after the wholesale costs are going to the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund.
This money will be spent helping fishermen and others who depend on the gulf for their livelihood. The aid will be applied in two phases:
Short-term: The fund will make emergency grants to nonprofit organizations helping the victims of the oil spill.
Long-term: The fund will help address the long-term economic, environmental, cultural effects of the disaster, and strengthen coastal communities against future environmental catastrophes by investing in solutions.
